Der Kugelbrunnen wurde im Jahre 1977 gebaut. Das besondere an diesem Brunnen ist, dass er "dynamisch" ist: Die drei Kugeln aus denen das Wasser strömt, öffnen und schließen sich zyklisch, wobei ein Zyklus rund 8 min dauert. Das Öffnen und Schließen erfolgt durch Wasserkraft. Im Vergleich mit anderen Brunnen hat der Kugelbrunnen einen relativ geringen Wasserdurchsatz
The "Kugelbrunnen" (translates to: spherical fountain) was build in 1977. The remarkable thing about this fountain is that it is "dynamic": the three spheres from which the water flows open and close periodically. One cycle is about 8 minutes. The movement of the segments of the sphere is powered by water, too. Compared to other fountains, the quantity water flowing from the fountain is low.
