At the so-called 'Vogelinsel' (Bird's Island) at the 'Altmühlsee', a lake in Bayern, Germany exists a look-out tower which can be used to watch out for birds.
It's a fantastic place to watch birds. There are about 210 different kinds of birds.
The protected area has a size of more than 200 hectars. This is 2/5 of the area of the lake. It consists of countless individual islands. Some of those islands can be accessed. There are bridges between them.
The huge lake and also the islands have been built 1976-1985.
The tower can be accessed all the time without any fee.
