TVW was the first television station in Western Australia, The Governor of Western Australia, Sir Charles Gairdner opened the station at 7.30pm on 16 October 1959.. Initially it broadcast from Applecross but moved to the current location in the early 1960's, although it started as a local station it is now part of the Australia-wide Seven Network
