Borgvold is a park and flower garden at the center of Viborg. The area was part of the city's medieval ramparts from around the year 1150.

Castle Gartner Rudolph Rothe established in the year 1864 the first paths and canals, as he planted many of the trees and shrubs that can be seen today in the park. In 1869-70 restructured gardener Carl Jacobsen Brostrøm the park and expanded it to the 4.5 ha area the park is today.

The former music pavilion was built in 1896 by architect Henrik Hagemann. In 2005 it burned down completely and for 3 years until 2008 the park had no stage for summer performances and concerts. The City of Viborg spend 1 million dkr. and built a completely new and modern music pavilion with a stage of 50 m2.

The area had until year 1907 several owners. In 1907 they handed over most of the area to Viborg city, with the condition that it should never be built on and used only for "public recreation".

In the Park you will find several sculptures. In 1989, the area towards the town center became a Bible Garden, which contains plants mentioned in the Old and New Testament.
