The porch is open at the front and sides with the glass
covered roof being held up by twelve ornate pillars - six along the front edge
and six along the back. The edge of the roof has rope embellishment coloured
gold with the main structure being green.
Along the inside at the back edge of the roof, above the entrance doors to the
palace are the words:
To Commemorate the Diamond Jubilee
of Queen Elizabeth II
At a similar height on the left side, when facing the
palace is the year "MCMLII" and on the opposite, right side is "MMXII".
The porch made the news during planning consultations as it was declined as
proposed.
