This small simply designed wood frame structure was built in 1881, but not first used as a schoolhouse until 1885. In its early days it was put on skids and moved to where the most students lived. After its days as schoolhouse ended it was donated to a local college. In 2003 it made its latest move to its present location. The building itself is original, though parts of it have been restored. It has been furnished with period items and open for viewing when the Historical Museum is open.
