New VIA Rail Canada passenger station in Cobourg, ON. The station is currently in the final stages of construction.
In 2009, the Government of Canada announced the construction of several new train stations along the Toronto - Montreal corridor to replace aging stations.
These new stations feature overhead walkways that allow the operation of through high-speed trains with increased safety for pedestrians.
The new station in Cobourgm built for $9 million, is scheduled to open in early fall, 2013.
