This station (Pavia) was part of the Mora "ramal", an extension to the railways network, connecting Évora to Mora. It had 60 km and it was inaugurated in 1908.

In the begining of 1903 a group of farmers and wealthy men from Évora, Pavia, Cabeção and Arraiolos started a lobby for the construction of a railway serving these locations. They were successful. "Their" railway was active until 1990 when the lack of passengers and cargo nationwide forced the closing of several hundred kilometers of railway. The "ramal" of Mora was part of this renovation of the network.
