More than a car wash, the Classic Auto Wash is a treasure trove of memorabilia and odd fiberglass sculptures. The first thing you see is a display of five vintage gasoline pumps. In the center, a yellow visible gasoline pump with a Gilmore lamp on top tells you that you are looking at pumps that date back to the 1920's.
Behind the pumps are statues of American icons: Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as the Blue Brothers. Marilyn Monroe sits beside them wearing her famous white dress from her classic comedy "The Seven year Itch". Another famous dress is worn by a replica of the Statue of Liberty. That's quite a juxtaposition of icons. A nautical theme follows featuring a male and female pirate, an anchor and lines.
In the back there is a menagerie of animals including: a lion, polar bear, blue ox, and several dinosaurs. And don't miss the telephone booth with Clark Kent changing into Superman. Finally there is a miniature railroad with locomotive, box car oil car, and caboose.
You can also get you car washed here. You can either use the drive through auto wash or the do-it-yourself wash stations.
