Denne gamle tankvogn fra 1931 er bygget af Wagenbau AG, Wismar, Tyskland. Køberen af vognen var Det Danske Petroleums-Aktieselskab og vognen havde den gang hjemme i Hellerup.

Det danske Petroleums-Aktieselskab fra 1889 spillede en dominerende rolle som distributør af olieprodukter i Danmark. I 1952 skiftede selskabet navn til Dansk Esso, og tankvognen blev ved den lejlighed overdraget til dette nye selskab.

Vognen er benyttet til transport af Asfalt, Brændselsolie og Smøreolie mens den var i brug ved Dansk Esso. I 1975 blev tankvognen solgt til Mariager-Handest Veteranjernbane (MHVJ) der er danmarks ældste veteranbane. Den gamle veteran station i Handest er hjemsted for tankvognen idag.

Tanken rummer 13.600 liter og må transporteres op til 17 tons.

This old tank wagon from 1931 is built by Wagenbau AG, Wismar, Germany. The owner of the wagon was the Danish Petroleum-Companies.

The Danish Petroleum-Companies played a dominant role as a distributor of petroleum products in Denmark from 1889. In 1952 the company changed its name to Danish Esso, and the wagon was transferred to this new company.

The wagon is used for transporting asphalt, fuel oil and lubricating oil while it was in use by Danish Esso. In 1975, the tank wagon was sold to Mariager-Handest Veteran Railway (MHVJ), Denmark's oldest veteran track. The old veteran station in handest is home of the wagon today.

The tank holds 13,600 liters and up to 17 tons may be transported.
