The Patoka Lake Disc Golf course is one of the finer examples of what disc golf courses could and should be like. There are 18 holes, 9 original and 9 added at a later time.
The course has a variety of throws, a variety of terrain, and a variety of elevation throughout.
There are a number of doglegs on the course, making the new player wonder where the basket will be. It also has very narrow fairways with rough, deep roughs that make it a tough course, but very fun course. Beware, the roughs like to eat discs!
The teepads are the best I have ever used. The hole signage is the only thing left to be desired. They are worn and some even laying down next to the teepads.
There is a $5 carload fee to get into the park (free if you have an Indiana DNR Parks pass and $7 for out of state vehicles). The course, however is free.
Overall, 4.5 discs out of 5!
