Text:
"OLD OAK TREE"
! stand here by a creek so blue.
I stood here while you carved initials,
and I love you.
Although those words you can not see,
I hold them, and cherish them with glee.
I hold them tightly in my heart,
THough covered over with timely bark.
I've listened to the children run and play,
not wanting to see the end of the day.
As you were snuggled in your bed,
I knew the squirrels were to be fed.
As the years go slowly by,
Some have forgotten but not I.
