Constitution Plaza was built between 1962 and 1964 as part of an urban renewal project at a cost $42 million dollars. In the center of a plaza is a large 40' by 50' granite and marble fountain created by Masao Kimoshita. In order to avoid spraying pedestrians in this windy location, the fountain resembles a mountain stream with the water flowing downward over vertical and horizontal stone slabs.
