The
Galena Trail follows the old Kaslo & Slocan Railway bed down the valley to New Denver, passing through old mine sites and the ruins of the town of Alamo as it goes. There's even a cable car along the route, as one must cross a creek. 7.1 km. in length, it is a relatively easy ride with a total elevation change of 309 metres.
The trailhead is about 100 metres southeast on Sandon Road from the highway. It is accompanied by a generously sized parking lot. At New Denver, the trail will end at
New Denver Siding Road, just south of Highway 31, on the eastern edge of New Denver.
