“We're looking for any location where a product tour is available for seeing how a product is made.” So it says in the description. Well, the product here is nuclear energy and there are not very many places in the world where one can safely observe this process.
The place is EBR-1 - Experimental Breeder Reactor-I, the first nuclear reactor to produce surplus energy: on December 21, 1951, it powered – yes – four light bulbs. The plant was decommissioned in 1964 and is now a national historic landmarks. It is open daily from 9 to 5 and guided tours start as soon as there are enough people. Tours take about 90 minutes. One can also take a self guided tour and walk through the entire process of nuclear fission in about 30 minutes.
Very informative!
