The sculptor,
Kim Michael calls himself 'The Zinker' and this statue is therefore a visual pun on Auguste Rodine's
statue in the Musée Rodin in Paris.
The original is a bronze statue showing a seated figure with one arm resting on its leg supported by the elbow and the hand is underneath the figure's chin.
In this statue the figure's hand is held higher up on the head, but the posture is still instantly recognisable. He is sitting on a large metal key and is looking out over the water of the harbour.
The surface of the metal looks really oily but is actually dry to the touch.
