EN: These remains of a small late Roman fort are located on the river Rhine in Mumpf. The site was part of the Roman border fortifications of the 4th Century.
Visible on the surface is only a small wall section directly at the riverside path that is almost completely overgrown. The larger part of the known site is located underground beneath the restaurant Anker just opposite the main road.
DE: Diese Überreste eines spätrömischen Kleinkastells befinden sich am Rheinufer in Mumpf. Die Anlage war Teil der römischen Grenzbefestigungen des 4. Jahrhunderts.
An der Oberfläche sichtbar ist nur ein kleines Stück Mauer direkt am Uferweg, das stark überwachsen ist. Der grössere Teil der bekannten Anlage befindet sich unterirdisch unterhalb des Gasthauses Anker direkt gegenüber an der anderen Seite der Hauptstrasse.
