Augustus Saint-Gaudens created several versions of his Standing Lincoln sculpture. The most famous of which is located in Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL. This 40" by 16" by 28" bronze version occupies a prominent position in the visitors center of the Saint-Gaudens NHS.
Lincoln is depicted standing in front of a chair. he is wearing shirt, waistcoat, and knee length overcoat. His left foot is slightly in front of his right. His right hand is at his back and his left hand is holding on to the label of his coat. The sculpture rest on a 4' high square wooden pedestal.
A brass plaque attached to the wooden pedestal is inscribed:
