This Leanto is the easternmost Leanto in Tompkins County along the Finger Lakes Trail .6 miles west of South Rd. (Don't be fooled by the Kimmie Leanto. The trail slips into Tioga County before slipping back into Tompkins County.)

Most leantos built for the Finger Lakes Trail are on spur trails (usually marked with blue blazes) just out of sight of the main trail (marked by white blazes). This Leanto, however is right on the trail, facing the trail and the creek below. The only blue blazes lead you to the outhouse.

This Leanto comes equipped with the usual fire ring and picnic table. It also has a round plank topped table which uses a large tree stump for a base. As an added bonus, this site can accommodate more than the usual 6 hikers/campers, because there is a large level bivouac site with an attractive pine needle floor adjacent to it on the west side.

Very attractive. I highly recommend it, unless you are looking to stay out of sight from other hikers!
