Long Description:
Built in 1886, this two story building on the main street is
typical of commercial buildings of this era in Petrolia.
An 1880’s by-law required all buildings to be built of brick – a
result of the many fires that plagued the oil fields and refineries
adjacent to the town centre – and this has helped ensure their
survival.
I know this block well as it’s home to the local photo shop.
