At exactly 100 feet long, this is probably an average sized Bailey Bridge. It is on Wildhorse Road, which heads east from Ymir's main street and eventually leads to the Wildhorse Mine, one of the turn-of-the-century gold mines which once made this a prosperous, bustling town. That's all gone now, but the remnants of the town and the bridge remain.
Old pictures show a truss bridge here in years past and a local told us that it was a wood bridge. This would mean that either they managed to burn their bridge down or its condition deteriorated sufficiently to require replacement. This, then, is another of those permanent temporary replacements.
Best place to park here is in the rest area just west of the bridge.
