Designed by Elizabeth Indianos. The location of the sundial at the northeastern corner of the college science building was chosen because of its convenient, central location with respect to foot traffic on the campus and minimal shading. Sundials allow us to tell time by the constant movement of a shadow that is cast by an object called a gnomon ("KNOW' - mon"). With this sundial YOU are the gnomon by standing ON the sundial.

It is #727 in the NASS register of sundials. (visit link)

Please note that this is a State of Florida college campus with college and high school students around. Please respect this.
Sundial Type: Analemmatic - Vertical gnomon with elliptical dial
