The Victorian style building was built between 1893 and 1894 and was designed by Mr George Temple-Poole to cater for the new lines from Perth to Fremantle,Midland and Armadale. In 1990 the system was converted to Electricity and in 1992 a new line was opened to Joondalup. During the early 2000's the Joondalup line was connected to another new line to Mandurah via an underground tunnel beneath the City
