This is not a powered rotary blower but rather a weighted car with a plow blade on the front end. It was pushed by a locomotive usually accompanied by other pieces of MOW equipment to handle any unusual circumstances that might apply. This type of plow was usually used on the open plains where snow depth was fairly uniform and shallow and large drifts did not accumulate. The bed of the car would be filled with sand or other heavy bulky material to keep the car on the tracks as it went about its work of clearing the tracks.
