Klitmøller Strand ligger ud til Vesterhavet ca. 10 km syd for Hanstholm. Stranden ligger i forbindelse med Klitmøller by og strækker sig fra Splittergab i nord til Ørhage i syd. Der findes bebyggelse få meter fra
strandkanten, men stedet indbefatter også klit- og hedelandskab. Stranden giver også gode betingelser for fiskeri og surfing.
Stranden, der fortrinsvist består af groft sand, er op til 100 meter bred og ca. 2 km lang afgrænset af Nors Å nord for Splittergab og bådpladsen ved Ørhage. Stranden og badevandet er klart og lavt i kanten. Dog bliver der hurtigt dybt og strømmen kan til tider være stærk. Badevandet ved Klitmøller Strand er klassificeret som udmærket kvalitet, hvilket er den bedste badevandskvalitet, et badested kan have. Klassificeringen er foretaget på baggrund af data fra de sidste 4 års badevandsanalyser.
Der er gode muligheder for både badning og surfing. Stedet er kendt som "Det danske Hawaii" og de fantastiske forhold for surfere tiltrækker udøvere fra hele Europa. Byen har været vært for de danske mesterskaber i diciplinen Waveperformance gennem 1990'erne samt flere store konkurrencer, bl.a. EM i 1996 og VM i 1998. Den stærke vind og de store bølger er optimale for både surfing, windsurfing og kitesurfing.
Klitmoeller Beach is located at the North Sea coast, approx. 10 km south of Hanstholm. The beach reaches from Splittergab in the north to Ørhage in the south. There are building few meters from seashore, but the place also includes dunes and heathland. The beach also provides good conditions for fishing and surfing.
The beach, which consists primarily of coarse sand, is up to 100 meters wide and approx. 2 km bounded by Nors river north of Splittergab and the pier at Ørhage. There are good opportunities for swimming and surfing. The place is known as "The Danish Hawaii" and the fantastic conditions for surfers attracts athletes from all over Europe. The city has hosted the Danish championships in the discipline Wave Performance during the 1990s as well as several major competitions, including European Championships in 1996 and 1998 World Cup. The strong winds and big waves are ideal for both surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing.
