Built in 1927, this little Lutheran Church has been on this corner for 86 years. It is a small, all wood (except for the foundation, which is concrete) church with classic "small town church" styling consisting of a steeply pitched roof, Gothic windows on each side, a small portico at the entrance, no bell tower, and a single cross atop the roof. The south east corner of the foundation contains a granite cornerstone dated 1927.

This church is one of a trio which share a pastor: Peace-Trinity in Trail, St. Peter in Castlegar, and this church, St. John’s, in Nelson. Worship times are, respectively, 9:00 AM, 11:15 AM and 4:00 PM.
