Michio Ihara, Sculptor
Dedicated in Wellesley, Massachusetts 1973
Rededicated in Boston, Massachusetts 2012
Michio Ihara's kinetic sculptures are based on modular combinations of single shapes repeated throughout the sculpture. Each smaller shape builds upon itself to evoke a sense of fluidity and lightness that works within a given space. The artist's ultimate goal is to create a marmonious connection between his sculptures and the surrounding environment.
