The base of the fountain has a low retaining wall to contain the water. On the western edge of the wall is a plaque that advises that the work is called "Waterfall" and was created by Antony Donaldson in 1991.

In the sentre of the fountain is a cistern, possibly made from copper, where the water rises and then flows over the edge. Around the cistern are six life-size, bronze, female figures in various poses with a seventh reclining on the surrounding wall. The surrounding wall also has some personal items, also cast from bronze, such as a wallet, wrist watch, sunglasses, beach shoes, etc.

This is an unusual fountain and one where the onlooker would feel sorry for the ladies in the depths of an English winter!
