About 150km NE of Laverton in Western Australia you will find Judson Well and a lonely Southern Cross Windmill.
It is an important water source for stock and native animals.

In 1871 George Washington Griffiths was making windmills at his Toowoomba Foundry in Queensland. The Southern Cross mill came to be between 1903-1911, it was formally known as the "1903". It is still in production today and has become an important image and an icon in the Australian outback.
