Minnesota No. 3 Sickle Mower - Old Agricultural Equipment on Waymarking.com

A local farmer, probably with the last name of Patton, has become a magnet for all of the old agricultural implements and tools that other farmers in the area want to clear off their land. So he has improvised this display for passing tourists to stop and view.

A sickle is used to cut grass or hay to be used as feed for livestock. Ater being cut by the sickle the material was allowed to dry naturally before being gathered and stacked for storage. In this instance, the blade is not attached to the main body of the sickle but is on the ground alongside it.
