Lakeside Park is the BIG park in Nelson, stretching for around 1 km. along the waterfront, starting immediately south of BOB.

The playground is to be found just south of the concession at the north end of the park. It has enough play equipment to keep the kiddies occupied long enough for the parents to catch their collective breath, for sure.

Lakeside park has all the amenities and activities most could wish for in a park, from beaches to sports to food and drink to sculpture to memorial plaques, trees and benches to flowers and trees and everything in between.

This park is definitely recommended for that "Play Break" for travelers, as it is close to the highway passing through Nelson, and has most everything one would look for in a park and it's free.
