Fort Benjamin Harrison was an extremely large and important Army post specializing in Finance for most of its history beginning in 1903. It played a large part in the development of the northeast side of Indianapolis and the City of Lawrence. It was substantially closed in the Base Realignments of the 1980's and '90's. It has been redeveloped into an area of historic neighborhoods and businesses that has kept the traditional architecture and history substantially intact.

It's located on Lawton Loop E. Dr., a few hundred feet south of Otis Ave, in the common park area. This is different from the location described on the official State Site, where it is lised as "not found" as of 2004.
