Park in Tucson which was a former military training ground during the Civil War then as Camp Lowell beginning in 1866.

ARMORY PARK, or Plaza Militair, S. 5th Ave. between E. 12th and E. 13th Sts., used as a camp and parade ground by the California Volunteers in 1862, contains a WORLD WAR MEMORIAL. Sunday evening concerts of Spanish and Mexican music are frequently given in the armory bandstand.- Arizona: A State Guide, Tucson section, pg. 259.

The park still exists and is best accessed from 6th Avenue.  The bandstand still exists along with with the World War Memorial mentioned in the Guide.  There is also a Spanish-American War Memorial and a Memorial to the Mormon Battalion.  There are also a few informational signs with information about the history of the park and area.
