This memorial standing six metres in height is outside the front of St Mark's church within the former graveyard. The memorial takes the form of a stone cross and has inscriptions on its four sides.

The inscription of the front, north west side, reads:

To the Glory
of God
and in
Honoured
Memory of
the Men
from this
Parish and
Neighbourhood
who gave
their lives
in the
Great War
1914 - 1918

May we in
faith and
honour keep
that peace
for which
they paid

The other three sides contain the names of 313 men that lost their lives. Above the main inscription and names is carved:

I am the / resurrection / and the life / St John 11:25
