The oldest in his construction in the XVIIIth, the church Saint-Maixent in what was originally the village of Souché, today integrated too in Niort.
At first, the Romanic church was destroyed as many during the religious wars and rebuilt from 1783. Building with unique nave, her is dedicated to saint Maixent, monk died in Poitou in 515.

Au départ, l'église romane fut détruite comme beaucoup pendant les guerres de religion et rebâtie à partir de 1783. Bâtiment à nef unique, elle est dédiée à Saint Maixent, moine mort en Poitou en 515.
Le clocher, quant à lui, date de 1857.
