This working water pump is an educational display in the Once Upon A Farm section, a children-oriented area, of the Memphis Zoo. It allows children (or adults) to operate the pump and see just how much effort was required in the past to obtain water for your livestock or your own personal needs. The water is not accessible to the farm animals in the petting zoo adjacent to the stock tank and there appears to be a means to drain the tank should it become over-full.
