This piece of Old Agricultural Equipment is one of several in the Once Upon A Farm section of the Memphis Zoo located at 2000 Galloway Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee.

This mechanical device was used to crack corn or break the hardened kernels into smaller chunks. The cracked corn was then used to feed farm animals. The cracking aided digestion, particularly by birds. It may also have been used in creating mash for the fermenting and distillation of 'moonshine'.

The device was powered by a belt that transferred power from the power take-off wheel of a tractor.
