1920: Thousands of onlookers watch as "The Human Fly" George Polley climbs the Woolworth Building in New York City. He reaches the 30th floor before being arrested.
1930: The first frozen foods of Clarence Birdseye go on sale in Springfield, Massachusetts.
1940: Winston Churchill, in his first address as Prime Minister, tells the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, "I have nothing to offer you but blood, toil, tears, and sweat."
1950: The comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz is first published in seven U.S. newspapers.
1960: The 1960 Winter Olympic Games begin at the Squaw Valley Ski Resort, in Placer County, California.
1970: The Partridge Family airs on Friday, September 25, 1970 on ABC.
1980: The Voyager 1 probe confirms the existence of Janus, a moon of Saturn.
1990: The Ultimate Warrior defeats Hulk Hogan to win the WWF Championship in a Title for Title, winner takes all match at WrestleMania VI in front of nearly 68,000 at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario
2004: Facebook launches.
