"Die Liebfrauenkirche ist immer schon (neben St. Kastor) die Stadtpfarrkirche von Koblenz gewesen. Ihre Anfänge reichen ins 5. Jahrhundert zurück, als die Franken in dem römischen Gemäuer ein Gotteshaus errichteten.
Unter Verwendung der Fundamente wurde sie mehrmals um- und ausgebaut.

Die Doppelturmfassade im Westen korrespondiert in ihrer repräsentativen Wirkung mit den Westfassaden der ehemaligen Koblenzer Stiftskirchen St. Kastor und St. Florin.

Die Liebfrauenkirche hat 4 Glocken in ihrem Glockenturm. In Erinnerung an die Schließung der Stadttore und den damit verbundenen Zapfenstreich wurde das Läuten der Barbaraglocke, der so genannten "Lumpenglocke", über die Jahre beibehalten. Jeden Abend um 22 Uhr läutet auch heute noch die "Lumpenglocke". Danach schweigen Geläut und Stundenschlag bis zum frühen Morgen.

"The Church of Our Beloved Lady has always been the parish church of Koblenz (alongside St. Castor). The beginnings extend back to the 5th century when the Franks erected a place of prayer within the Roman walls. It was converted and extended several times using the original foundations.

The twin-tower façade in the west corresponds to the effect of the west façades of the former monastery churches of St. Castor and St. Florin in Koblenz. The Church of Our Beloved Lady has 4 bells in the bell tower. In commemoration of the closing of the town gates and the related curfew, the ringing of the Barbara bell, the so-called "reveller bell", has been kept going over the years. The "reveller bell“ still rings at 22.00 every evening. The chimes and the hourly bells then remain silent until the early morning.
