"Die Florinskirche war die Kirche des aufgelösten Chorherren-Stiftes St. Florin und ist heute eine evangelische Gemeindekirche im Stadtzentrum.
Das dreischiffige romanische Langhaus mit den beiden Türmen wurde um 1100 errichtet. Um 1200 erhielten die Türme spätromanische Giebel. Die Gotik brachte um 1350 einen neuen Chor, der auf dem Stumpf eines römischen Stadtmauerturms steht. Um 1467 stockte man den Bau zwischen den Türmen auf.
Nachdem 1794 französische Revolutionstruppen Koblenz besetzt hatten, wurde St. Florin 1803 säkularisiert und als Magazin genutzt.
Die Kirche sollte 1807 auf Veranlassung Napoleons sogar zu einem städtischen Schlachthaus mit Verkaufsständen umfunktioniert werden.
Doch dazu kam es nicht, da die Preußen 1815 das Regiment in Koblenz übernahmen und König Friedrich Wilhelm III. das Gebäude im Jahr 1818 der evangelischen Militär- und Zivilgemeinde übertrug. Es wurde 1820 als evangelische Pfarrkirche geweiht und somit zum ersten evangelischen Kirchengebäude in Koblenz. Im Jahr 1899 erhielten die Türme ihre spitzen Turmhelme.
Das Innere des Kirchenschiffs ist harmonisch und klar proportioniert. Barocke Putten in den Ecken erinnern daran, dass das erst im 16. Jahrhundert eingezogene Gewölbe nach der Zerstörung von 1688 im Jahr 1708 wiederhergestellt wurde. Im Gewölbe über dem Taufbecken steckt eine Kanonenkugel. "St. Florin' s Church is a triple-naved Romanesque pillared basilica (12th century) with Gothic chancel (1350) on Roman tower. The original flat timber ceiling was renewed in 1708, and the squat towers were replaced in 1900 by pointed ones. Nearby is the city's oldest dwelling house.
Opposite, where the vicarage belonging to the Church of our Beloved Lady now stands, is the site where the central section of the Franconian royal court originally stood in the 6th century.
