Two Monoculars standing at the Oberer Schlosshof (upper castle courtyard) at the Festung Ehrenbreitstein (Ehrenbreitstein Fortress).
From here you have views over the town and the confluence of the Moselle River with the Rhine, known as the "Deutsches Eck", with its giant equestrian statue of the German Emperor William I. On the horizon to the west you can see, on a clear day, the Eifel low mountain range. A landmark in north-western direction is the cooling tower of the defunct Mülheim-Kärlich Nuclear Power Plant.
