Our Saviour Church has a 90 metres high bell tower and spire open to the public. The observation deck on top of the tower is where the pictures were taken from. It provides an ideal place to view the small island of Christianshavn.

There are 250 steps up to the top of the tower which gradually narrow to a spiral staircase.
It is possible to continue to climb a further 150 steps on an external spiral staircase round the spire, but this is not an ideal position from which to take photographs.
There is only a narrow sea channel between the island and the main city of Copenhagen and it is possible to see across to the main city. Indeed the channel is so narrow that it is easy to walk across the road bridges.

Midsummer Night's open till. 23.00.
On 16 September - 1 December:
Monday - Saturday. 10-16
Sundays and public holidays. 10:30-16 will be closed for access to the tower at. 15:45. On 6-8th December and 12th-15th December: Thursday - Saturday. 10-16 Sunday at. 10:30-16 will be closed for access to the tower at. 15:45. during heavy rain and wind tower closed temporarily for safety reasons.
