This Tourist Information Center is inside Van Buren/Fort Smith Rest Area located on the south side of Interstate Highway 40 at Milepoint 2.6 just east of the Oklahoma/Arkansas border west of Van Buren, Arkansas.

As part of the rest area, the building is open and brochures about the region's attractions are available 24 hours per day. The Welcome Center is staffed from 8:00AM to 5:00PM (6:00PM in the summer) every day except Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Christmas Eve 8:00AM to Noon.
