The lighthouse which over looks Woodman Point in the City of Cockburn, has been in operation since 1902.

It is built out of local limestone blocks and stands a mere 9.8 metres tall.

The lighthouse is operated and maintained by the Fremantle Port Authority for the benefit of coastal shipping approaching Fremantle Harbour from the south west.

Access to the lighthouse is restricted (it is fenced off) but there are numerous tracks through the bush here to allow access to the fence line.
