This painted utility box is part of the Koreatown Northgate neighborhood improvement project.

This particular box was done by teen artist Aisha Tymous from the Oakland School for the Arts.

Aisha says her design is is a cherry blossom tree with intricate black lining within it and white dots between the spaces to give it a more complicated yet subtle look. There will be a simple black bird and a tire swing on one of the branches because it reminds her of a swing tire she use to play on everyday with her father as a child.

Unfortunately, this box has signs of tagging.
