The interpretive sign on the exhibit of an early chairlift reads:

Surplus Army Air Corps B-24 bomber seats used on New Mexico's first chairlift built at Santa Fe Ski Basin in 1950. The lift was assembled from parts of an old mining lift salvaged from the Eureka Mine in Silverton, Co and was a detachable chairlift. It was retured in the early 1960's.
