From the guidebook:
Page xxiii says
"State-owned DuPont Lodge, rate per day from $2 which would be equivalent to $142 income value now."

Page 280 says
"DUPONT LODGE, named in honor of T. Coleman du Pont, stands on a ridge overlooking the Cumberland River, one mile from the falls. It is built of wood and stone."

The lodge was expanded to 51 rooms, which were last renovated in 2006. It has a back deck overlooking the Cumberland River (but not the falls). Meals are available in the ground floor dining room.
