Brock School Hand-Operated Water Pump near Emerald Beach, MO - Hand Operated Water Pumps on Waymarking.com

This pump is right out in the front yard of the old Brock School, which itself is pretty well maintained. The Brock family came to the area in about 1840. According to this rootsweb page William Jefferson Brock was the postmaster and also taught at this school, which bears the family name.

One can park along Sans Souci Drive, right next to the school and walk over to the pump. There are no gates or special visiting hours. I think that the pump is still in working order, or could be. Since there was a bucket attached to the handle (see photo), I did not wish to try it.
