Housed in a new building by the cathedral, the earliest parts of which date from the 9th century, the Museum am Dom displays art based on Christian themes. Works of the Romantic, Gothic and Baroque periods contrast with modern religious themed art and allow the visitor to span the ages. Modern, open airy museum with the various works given the space they need to be properly viewed and appreciated. Has a number of works by the famous 15th and 16th century sculptor and woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider.
