In Fall River, on the corner of Franklin and Rock Street, is a building that once was Cataract Engine Company No. 3, now the Old Firehouse Smoks Shop.

The building is on the northwest corner of the intersection. It is a two-story building with a front porch and a low sloping roof. The building is painted red with orange trim. There are two plaques on the building. One states the following:

"c. 1843
Cataract Engine Company # 3
Fall River's Oldest Standing
Fire Station."

A sign off the porch says "Old Firehouse Smoke Shop."

The shop's web site has a little history on it. It was first a firehouse, then the meeting house of the Grand Old Army of the Republic (G.A.R.). The place has been a smoke shop (tobacco products) for over 14 years.
